The mobile conferencing apps have made our video conferences a handy experience. You can get on an impromptu virtual call with anyone at your will. However, it is also to be noted that such impromptu calls often demand your attendance from a less professional environment or from a distracting background which would compromise your overall meeting experience.
Zoom mobile app offers you the option to fix your video background disturbances. Be it a bizarre invite from your boss when you’re at your dining table during a dinner time or from your pal when you’re on the streets during your pet care time, the virtual background option from Zoom can help you fix your worry. Except for you, the remaining of your background can be hidden with an image or video of your choice. Depending on your meeting theme and participant, you can select the image or the video to be displayed to your participants which makes the meet a fun.
Note: Currently, for undisclosed reasons, Zoom supports Virtual background feature only on iOS mobiles and not on Android mobiles. We’ll bring you the updates further if any.
Prerequisite:
Prior to using the virtual background feature from your mobile device, it is mandatory you enable it from your Account Settings via web. You can enable it with the below simple steps:
- From your browser, visit www.zoom.us.
- Click Sign in.
- Enter your account login credentials and click ‘Sign In’.
- From the Meetings page of your Zoom account page, click ‘Settings’.
- From the Meetings tab of the settings page, locate the ‘Virtual background’ option under the Advanced meetings settings.
- Enable the ‘Virtual background’ option. Upon selecting your preference, you’ll be automatically indicated with the success message on the same.
Now with your Virtual background preference enabled, you can directly join or create a meet and opt for it.
Using Virtual Background in a meeting
Note: Though Zoom recommends having a solid color background (preferably green), the virtual background works fine for any background as long as the camera is held firmly to recognize you from your background.
Here’s us presenting the steps to set-up your virtual background for your Zoom mobile meetings.
- Open Zoom mobile app.
- Join or create a meeting. Click Here
- From the call, click More option from the bottom-right option.
- Click ‘Virtual Background’.
- A sample of 3 backgrounds are provided by default for you to choose. You can also add customized images as you need and use it.
- Click ‘Close’ to resume to the call with the selected background.
