The summary of the issue behind the sudden atonement of TIME is based on a whistle blower aka social media rights activist, Frances Haugen, who was in Facebook’s committee of civic integrity earlier and was later dissolved from the team. In her shocking testimony, she said “I think the moment which I realized we needed to get help from the outside—that the only way these problems would be solved is by solving them together, not solving them alone—was when civic-integrity was dissolved following the 2020 election. It really felt like a betrayal of the promises Facebook had made to people who had sacrificed a great deal to keep the election safe, by basically dissolving our community.”

She also shared shocking insights on how Instagram promoted polarizing content, body dysmorphia and eating disorders. She said “The company’s leadership knows how to make Facebook and Instagram safer, but won’t make the necessary changes because they have put their astronomical profits before people”.

How to deactivate your Facebook Account:

1. From your Facebook profile, click the more icon in the top right corner of your screen.
2. Select Settings & privacy.
3. Click Settings.
4. Click Your Facebook information in the left column.
5. Click Deactivation and deletion.
6. Choose Deactivate Account.
7. Click Continue.

7. Click Continue to account deletion.
8. Click Delete Account, enter your password.
