How to view your most played songs of this year on Spotify, Apple Music and other apps?

It is December and we’re all excited to see what’s in store in the upcoming year. At the same time, we are equally excited to look back at our year 2021 and see what made us feel special. Music is almost an integral part of our lives, thanks to smartphones for putting it right in our palms. So, with a ton of music ready for you, it is pretty difficult to think of a day when we didn’t consume music, be it your hard rock gym playlist or the soothing songs for your good night routine.

In this article, we’ll teach you to have a summary report of your top songs and podcasts this year, 2021.

Spotify

No list about music streaming is complete without mentioning Spotify. Around 30% of the global music streaming subscribers prefer Spotify and it is a no brainer to pick it as our first item on the list. So, how do you view your top songs and podcasts of this year on Spotify? Spotify makes it the easiest to view it and to add it, Spotify brings in a curated and an interactive report on your most played songs, artists, play statistics, and your top podcast show of the year in colorful visuals. This report, that goes by the name Spotify Wrapped is a viral hit on the internet and is the benchmark for any user statistics in the industry.

Spotify Wrapped is usually available on 1st of December every year for you.

Apple Music

When it comes to smartphone related talks, Apple is not anyway inferior in any walks. With 25% of the total music streaming subscribers globally, Apple Music is second only to Spotify in the list. Similar to Spotify Wrapped, Apple Music too brings in a report that allows you to view your most played songs of the year.

However, unlike Sportify Wrapped, Apple Music makes it elegant. The report is named ‘Replay 2021’ and carries top 100 songs of your year in a clean list without fancy colors to cater your social media. Nonetheless, Apple Music does the job in a classy and effective manner. Though Apple Music’s report falls short on statistics when compared to Spotify, it for sure carries your top songs, artists, and albums.

Also, it is interesting to note that this report is available for you throughout the year.

YouTube Music

It is nearly impossible to find a smartphone user who doesn’t use YouTube today. Such is the penetration rate and a certain percentage obviously converts to subscribers of YouTube Music. Similar to Spotify and Apple Music, YouTube Music too provides a handy report on your top artists, songs, music videos and playlists from this year.

The report is aptly named ‘2021 Recap’ provides similar personalized stats of top artists, songs, music videos, and playlists from this year. While this feature is newly introduced this year by YouTube Music, Google says some users will still not be able to view the report. In a clarifying statement, Google said “In order to be able to view your 2021 Recap you’ll need to have at least 10 hours of music listening time across YouTube and/or YouTube Music from January 1, 2021 to November 15, 2021.”
