One more thing! – What to expect from Apple?

Apple is on a roll this fall! It’s just a couple of days into November after we’ve had a great Techtober and we already have an exciting announcement from Apple for it’s third virtual event for this Fall 2020. Though 2020 has been quite not an year to cherish for majority of the world, Apple seems to be enjoying the times. With iOS 14, iPadOS 14, macOS Big Sur roll-outs in WWDC 2020, iWatch announcements in its September “Time flies” event, and unveiling new iPhone 12 models in October’s “Hi, Speed!” event, the tech world is eagerly waiting for what to expect from the new “One more thing” event.

However, Techmye brings in the excerpts from Apple’s earlier announcements and laydowns what the industry insiders are buzzing about!

What Apple promised earlier?

Along with its bunch of new OSes, iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS 7, tvOS 14, macOS Big Sur in its June WWDC 2020 event, Apple also shocked the tech industry that it plans on to move away from Intel processors for its Mac laptop models. The Cupertino giant also promised that it’d be a minimum of 2 years for Apple to completely move away from Intel from all of it’s devices. However, Tim Cook also said “Apple Silicon Mac would be unveiled sometime this year”.

Additionally, the latest teaser from Apple from shows an animated Apple logo rising up obviously is a mimic of opening a Mac laptop from an outsider’s point of view. So, it is strongly expected that the new event is focused on new Mac laptop processors.

What’s gonna replace Intel processors?

The partnership between Intel and Apple runs down a decade and a half when Steve Jobs decided to ditch the PowerPC processors in 2005. After the break-ups with Motorola 6800 series, PowerPC processors and now with the Intel x86 chips, Apple now plans to use its own in-house ARM64 processors. The move is a welcome worthy one considering the fans expectations since its initial rumours from 2014.

Though Apple’s market share for computers is 10% worldwide, this might be a big blow for Intel from a technology partnership stand point.

What else is exciting about One more thing?

Apart from the processors, the Macintosh line of computers this year is expected to look and come with the same specs. As a start, Apple plans to unveil one 13-inch MacBook Air and two: a 13-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro models this November. Gradually within 2022, the other desktop computers including the iMac, iMac Pro, Mac Pro and Mac mini will sport the Apple’s new processors.

Apart from that, we are expecting some more uber cool updates such as macOS Big Sur general availability roll out. Also, an interesting trivia we’d like to zoom in is that the “One More Thing” is not just another name for Apple’s event, but a catch phrase often used by former CEO Steve Jobs  during the keynotes of important product announcements. So, a lot of other updates such as AirPods Studio and AirTags are expected to entertain the Apple fans all around the globe.

Stay tuned with Techmye to know more!
