Today’s world is virtual one and almost for every store or a stop-by you see on the real world, an equivalent digital space, app is available. Be it your shopping store, super market, the best apparel store, or your favorite hangout joint in the city, there’s an app available for it on your mobile’s app store.

The usage of apps has become inevitable in our lives that we don’t pass a day without using at least 5 apps per day. Who would’ve thought about this when almost all these app functionalities were still doable on the web version? Some credit Steve Jobs for envisioning it back in early 2000s for developing a portal for consumers to buy licensed software over a telephone (viz., mobile phone of today’s age).

So, if apps are so much delved into our lives, there obviously arises a question if all apps are actually that useful? Certainly not! There are almost a bunch of apps which serve as the main source of some business models, however there also exists a bunch of apps which basically does nothing, but still are a hit amongst the users.

In this article, we’ll see some of the famous apps which basically does nothing, but is a lot more fun than you would expect.

Nothing

Amongst the list of apps that does nothing, this app tops the chart with as much as almost 96K reviews and more than 1 million downloads. The user reviews of the app are much better than your stand-up comedies on Netflix.

Hammer simulator

Hammer simulator app is one of the most quirkiest apps on Google Play Store. The app falls under the simulation type apps and has received a lot of praise for the witty marketing they make. You can install the Hammer app and pretend that your mobile phone now acts as a hammer. You can slam your walls with a nail using your phone, but we’re sorry if your phone cracks open into two.

Dmitsoft is the developer of this app and the company has a bunch of other apps like this on Google Play Store for fun. The app is still gaining popularity and has had around 5 lakh+ downloads yet on the Play Store. Read the user reviews for yourself and enjoy the sarcastic comments.

WeCroak

This is one of the most philosophical apps that you’ll ever see in your life. The philosophy shortly being, you’ll die soon! Sounds funny? No, it isn’t. The app is inspired by a Bhutanese saying “To be a happy person, one must contemplate death five times daily.”

So, basically this app sends 5 notifications randomly (just like how death hits you) during a day for you to pause and think about your death. Each notification will carry a quote on death and makes you think about the forthcoming death so you accept to yourself about who you are and be happy about it. Funny isn’t it? Oh wait! Have you started thinking about your death already?
